On Family Portraits
Todays families come in many shapes and sizes. But one thing is still true, the family remains the central element of contemporary life offering companionship, security, and protection. There has been much research done on the importance of family structure in our society and it has become clear that regardless of your family structure, it will have a huge influence on your children's happiness, development, and future.
Todays parents are often caught in a catch 22 situation. The desire to provide for the family and the need to spend time to build family relationships are often at cross purposes. Unfortunately, it is usually the time to build family relationships that suffer. The result is children are often raised by nannies, preschools, kindergarten, etc. The risk is that children can loose their sense of identity and where they fit in, often turning to substitute families for that sense of belonging and importance. A family portrait can go a long way to bridge that void.
A family portrait, printed and clearly displayed in the home, is a constant reminder to the children that they are part of something and that they are important. Individual printed portraits of the children clearly displayed in the home are a constant reminder of the pride that the parents take in their children - helping the children develop a healthy self image.
A family portrait could very well be the most important pieces of art that you can have displayed in your home.

Book Your Family Portrait Session
So what's involved in creating a great family portrait? Well, the first step is to get together and discuss your vision of a family portrait. This is the time to discuss the who, what, when and where of the portrait. From there we can consider some of the design elements of the portrait and to see how we might be able to put it together. This pre-portrait planning and design sessions are at no cost to you.
If, at the end of the pre-portrait planning and design session, you decide you will want to move forward with the portrait, then a $295 retainer will be required. This retainer is to reserve your session and cover the cost of the time and materials needed to create the portrait. The overall final cost of the portrait will vary depending upon the choices you make and are discussed in the pre-portrait planning session.
Once you have decided to have your family portrait created by us, we start putting all the elements together to insure that everything will go smoothly on the day of the session. A typical family portrait session can take between one and two hours.
Once the photography has been complete, the next step is to select your portrait. This is done through the studios digital viewing system - either at the studio or in your home. Your selections will then be art worked and custom printed to insure that they are of the highest quality and that they are done to your specifications.
