On Lifestyle and Conceptual Portraits
What is a Lifestyle Portrait? A Lifestyle portrait is a portrait that goes beyond being just a likeness of the subject and begins to tell the story of who that person is. They are usually more casual in nature and are often photographed on location or in the subject home. A lifestyle portrait is designed to be an heirloom piece, very often moving it from the realm of portrait to the realm of art. It is a moment in time that is significant and special to the person who commissioned the portrait.
The Tween and Teen years are some of the richest years of a persons personal growth making them perfect for Lifestyle Portraits. What interests them, what hobbies do they have, what sports do they play. All of those things go into developing who they are and who they are going to be. Lifestyle portraits by Len Grinke Photography of your teen or tween is the best way to more completely tell that story.
All of my Lifestyle portraits begin with a pre-session consultation. This can be over the phone or in person, depending on your schedule. During this consultation we will look at your teen or tween's interests and discuss locations, colours, themes, and style of portrait. This is a no obligation consultation but will make all the difference in how your lifestyle portrait looks.
The lifestyle portrait session is 1 to 1 1/2 hours long and can be in the anywhere in Vancouver, the lower mainland, or the studio. Viewing and selection of the final image is done at the studio where I can help you with final selection, sizes, and framing.
